'Gibby' Named to the College Football Hall of Fame

Kirk Gibson

Kirk Gibson, affectionately known as "Gibby," is one of 10 former players named to the College Football Hall of Fame for 2017.

The National Football Foundation and the College Hall of Fame  in Atlanta made the announcement on Monday.

Gibson is in good company. Some other players include Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson. 

Gibson, 59,  played wide receiver for Michigan State University from 1975 to 1978 before going on to play for the Detroit TIgers.

Here's the complete list of inductees for the College Hall of Fame for 2017:

·        BRIAN URLACHER – DB, New Mexico (1996-99

·        DANNY FORD – 122-59-5 (66.9%); Clemson (1978-89), Arkansas (1993-97)
