HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Traffic on the H-1 Freeway westbound is slow-going thanks to an earlier accident that closed several lanes and several other small incidents.

The state has opened the HOV lane to all vehicles to help alleviate the gridlock.

Police closed lanes on the H-1 Freeway westbound near Waikele for several hours Friday because of an accident.

Drivers also reported several other small accidents and stalls.

Several social media users said the traffic was much heavier than normal.
