THIS WEEK

• Tamilicious kicks off at 8 p.m. tonight, Friday, April 22 at Southern Aroma (7200 Markham Road Unit #14). The culinary celebration showcases Tamil food through three-course prix fixe menu featuring pakoras, briyani, kothu rotti and more in both vegetarian and meat-lover options. Tickets are $35, seating is first come first served.
• Ten of Ontario's top bartenders compete at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 25 at 86'd Monday at The Drake Hotel (1150 Queen Street West). The Absolut cocktail competition is free to attend and guests get to sample all the drinks and vote for the favourite.
• Tickets ($100) are still available for a Modern Kosher Pop-up Restaurant happening on Monday April, 25 at 37 Southbourne Avenue. The three course family style menu will featuring build-you-own Mexican pancakes, fish or meat mains, and a flight of desserts.

UPCOMING

• Fonda Lola (942 Queen Street West) hosts a Tequila Tasting Fiesta on Tuesday, April 27 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 for the evening featuring house-aged blancos and top-shelf anejos served free tortillas and pineapple salsa and $2 tacos.
• Held over a second night, The Depanneur (1033 College Street) still has space for its May 1 Supper Club dubbed PanAsia by Greg Couillard. Tickets are $60for this menu, that tours Japan, Thailand and Malaysia featuring kamakaze tuna bombs, Chiang Mai grilled chicken salad, shrimp pad thai and pina colada crème brulĂŠe.
• Tickets ($70) are on sale now for Neptuno happening at Ufficio (1214 Dundas Street West) on Wednesday, May 4. Chef Craig Harding presents a multi-course menu featuring ricotta stuffed zucchini blossoms, giant Portuguese squid with arancini, black pepper panna cotta and more.
• Silver Spoons takes over 28 Logan Avenue on Friday, May 13 and and Saturday, May 14. The two day event will bring together 60 + food and drink vendors for food stations and a market featuring east restaurants, wine tastings ($1-$2/oz), craft beer, interactive digital floor games, live music, DJ and silent art auction benefiting Second Harvest.
